Most dental insurance policies include benefits for periodontal and implant treatment. Although it is not required by most plans prior to treatment, we will submit a predetermination of benefits to your insurance carrier upon request. While these plans are intended to assist you financially in obtaining necessary care, your benefits do not typically cover all required services. We will work to maximize your coverage; however, you must accept financial responsibility for your healthcare.
We will need current diagnostic x-rays in order to see disease/infection not otherwise visible. If your referring dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they be forwarded to us or you may obtain them and bring them to your first visit.
Since all cases are different, the doctor must complete your examination before establishing your treatment planning and the fee for care. The fee for periodontal treatment can vary considerably depending on the type of problems and the complexity and length of treatment. An approximate fee can usually be determined at the initial visit; but on occasion, some initial treatment or further diagnostics must be completed before the final treatment planning can be established. Our philosophy of practice is to treat as conservatively as possible to attain treatment goals.
Our office and your dentist will work closely together. If crowns, fillings or other restorative dental treatment are needed, your dentist will provide them. Regular visits to your dentist are an important part of periodontal maintenance.
